About
What does it mean to stand out, or to fit in? A great deal of this depends on how we present outselves to the world, and a substantial part of that depends on how we dress. We understand this at a subconscious level, but how would we go about systematically assessing what is typical in order to decide what we should do at a certain place and a certain time?

In October of 2011 I used surveillance techniques to observe hundreds of men passing through UCLA's North Campus, created a schema to organize observations on the dress of these men, and then created a taxonomy of dress in order to determine "typical" clothing.
